The recently released report by the SNIA's Data Management Forum and its 100 Year Archive Task Force captures the operating practices, requirements and issues facing organisations managing large amounts of information.

  • US EPA Moves Closer To Providing An Energy Star For Server Technology

    The US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a framework document which outlines the building blocks for energy efficient servers. The document requires feedback from interested parties by the end of August on how to define computer servers; types and what energy efficiency measures should be used. The EPA is also considering a range of sub-categories to define the possible server combinations.
