    T-Data, a Ridderkerk, Netherlands, based backup and storage specialist has selected Interxion to supply its managed online backup and restore solution, Secure Data Service. IT-Data will resell Secure Data Service to its existing and new customers.

  • Global Voice Concludes Deals Totalling in Excess of ? 2.3m

    Global Voice Group Limited (GV) the Irish founded and Singapore listed owner and operator of fibre networks across Europe, has concluded deals totalling in excess of 2.3m, with an average contract length of 2.5 years. The deals represent significant revenue growth across both GV's Data Services and Infrastructure Provision business units. The deals announced are: A multi-year deal with Dresdner Bank AG subsidiary Visionapp GmbH. Visionapp will utilise GV's German data centres and network capabilities for the high-availability operations of its ASP and hosting offerings.

  • Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) to Outsource its Data Centre and IT Infrastructure Services to HP

    Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) is to outsource its Data Centre and IT infrastructure services to Hewlett-Packard Singapore (Sales) Pte Ltd (HP). The contract is being finalised and expected to be signed before the end of 2005. The nominal value of the contract is estimated at about S$95 million (US$ 56m) for five years. Over the contract period, SGX expects to save up to 20% of the projected cost of enhancing its data centre and IT infrastructure services.

  • Postini Selects Interxion to Host IMM Services in Switzerland

    Interxion's Zurich data centre has been selected by Postini, Inc. to host its Integrated Message Management (IMM) services in Switzerland. Interxion already hosts Postini's IMM platform in Amsterdam. Postini is expanding its integrated message management activities in Europe and offers a suite of corporate e-mail and instant messaging services.

  • Colt Wins ?80m Contract From AOK

    COLT has won a contract valued at more than 80m over five years to design and manage the nationwide data communications infrastructure for German insurance company AOK. Colt will connect AOK's 1,600 branches across Germany with a data network, consolidating its current networks and suppliers. AOK will migrate its data network to Colt in a two-year phased programme with full implementation planned for the end of 2007. Colt will also host and manage AOK's internet and e-mail infrastructure, for its 25 million members, as well as its 60,000 employees.

  • HCL Technologies Signs Five-Year Agreement With Autodesk

    HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL) has signed a five-year agreement with Autodesk to provide offshore application and data centre services. The deal is reported to be worth around US$50 million. Autodesk, of San Rafael, California, sells software and services for the manufacturing, building, infrastructure, wireless data services, and media and entertainment markets. HCL, an Indian outsourcing company in Noida, near Delhi, will provide Autodesk with application and data centre services for business applications from vendors such as SAP, Informatica, and Siebel Systems.

  • MCI Launches NetSec Security Risk Management Service

    MCI has launched its NetSec Security Risk Management Service, a new managed solution that helps companies improve their security by quantifying, prioritising and remediating security risks across an enterprise. MCI's latest cloud-to-core offering enables companies to enhance their ability to take proactive decisions and initiate immediate action against threats and vulnerabilities, when and where it most needed. The service will be available to U.S.-based companies, including multinationals beginning in January 2006.

  • SingTel Launch e-Surveillance Service

    A new managed end-to-end digital video surveillance service has been launched by Singapore Telecommunications. As an extension to the traditional close-circuit TV system, it allows users to conduct continuous video recording and view real-time images of their surveillance recordings from anywhere within or outside of Singapore using broadband or IP connections. Customers can store and retrieve video images up to 30 days from the centrally-hosted video library at SingTel EXPAN, the company's managed hosting solution.

  • tel(x) Launch tel(x) Brilliant Platform

    tel(x), the provider of telecom "meet-me" network interconnection facilities, has launched the tel(x) Brilliant Platform(SM) (BP) at One Wilshire in Los Angeles. The BP provides enhanced interconnection capabilities through the conversion and grooming of multiple protocols. Now tel(x)'s European customers in NYC can take advantage of the same high-level services at One Wilshire in LA to interconnect to Asian and Pacific Rim carriers.

  • Servecentric Launches Emailcentric

    Servecentric has launched Emailcentric, a fully managed, outsourced email service, aimed primarily at SMEs. Emailcentric facilitates business continuity and removes the financial and time-consuming strain of mail server downtime and lost emails. A key feature of the service is the strict spam and virus filter, which affords protection from unwanted email. Emailcentric utilises a double layer backup system to ensure that emails are stored in accordance with the latest Irish and EU legislation on the retention of electronic data. The service costs EUR10 per user, per month.

  • Verio Expands Data Protection and Manage Storage Service Offerings

    Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications and a provider of managed hosting solutions, has expanded its data protection and managed storage service offerings through a partnership with Arsenal Digital Solutions (Arsenal), to deliver a range of storage and data protection solutions to midsize and small businesses.

  • SAVVIS Win GBP 1.76m Outsourcing Contract

    SAVVIS has won a 3-year contract from Pfizer Health Solutions Inc for comprehensive managed hosting services worth a reported £1.76 million. Under terms of contract, Pfizer Health Solutions will deploy SAVVIS' fully resilient IT infrastructure solution in Europe. This includes managed network services, servers, storage, and disaster recovery services. As part of the solution, SAVVIS is also delivering managed security services that utilise virtualised firewall, load balancing and intrusion detection for hosted infrastructure, and in-network firewalling for the wide area network.

  • Interxion Wins MCCN Netherlands Hosting Deal

    MCCN, a nation-wide provider of mobile radio communication services in the Netherlands, has chosen Interxion data centre in Amsterdam to host the switching and management hub of its Tetra network. MCCN (Mission Critical Communications Networks B.V.) is building its nation-wide digital network to address the growing demand for reliable, scaleable mobile radio services in the Netherlands. Until recently, there was only one technically comparable alternative network - C2000 that is exclusively used by emergency organisations such as police, fire fighters and ambulances.

  • Postini And Zix Corporation To Address Demand For Policy-based Email Encryption

    Postini, Inc., the global leader in Integrated Message Management, and Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (NASDAQ: ZIXI), a global provider of secure email encryption and e-prescribing solutions and services, today announced that they have entered into a strategic agreement to address demand for, policy-based email encryption.
