  • GNAX Acquires New Atlanta Facility

    Global Net Access (GNAX) has acquired a new 75k sq.ft building to be managed by Colo Facilities Atlanta. According to the company, the building will survive tornado strength winds. It is 5 miles from their current location and situated on the way to the airport and on a major fibre ring owned by the local gas utility. GNAX has signed a lease for 25,000 sq.ft of space in the NAP and will begin operations in the new building in January 2006. The remaining 50,000 sq.ft will be available for rent immediately for data centre and colocation operations.

  • Data Centre New Build in South Africa

    A new state-of-the-art data centre in Midrand, South Africa hopes to attract foreign companies to store data in South Africa. To be built at a cost of R143-million, the new centre will comprise two buildings that are to be linked via two dark-fibre optic cables, to prevent any interruptions in information flow. Two sites were located that would allow the construction of two separate buildings in one business park. Built to international standards, the centres promise unscheduled downtime of less than 24 minutes a year and the twin data centres will allow instant mirroring of information.

  • Data Electronics Invests ?2.5 Million In Facility Expansion

    Data Electronics has opened a new 2.5 million extension to its Data Centre facility in Kilcarbery Park, Dublin. The 13,000 sq feet expansion takes the facility up to 21,000 sq feet. Vodafone is the first major company to be hosted at the new facility following a multi-million euro competitive contract to house part of its voice and data infrastructure. The expansion is the first of its kind in Ireland since the downturn in the data centre market in 2000, highlighting an important resurgence and demand by businesses to support and service their IT infrastructure.

    Experian Ltd., the global information solutions company based in the UK, will use Raritan's remote management solutions to maintain servers in its new data centre. The new 700-server data centre to support its extensive European operations is expected to grow to 5,000 servers, replaced two processing centres - one of which became Experian's disaster recovery data centre.

    GoDaddy.com, the world's No. 1 registrar both in terms of new domain names and domains under management has announced its latest asset - a newly owned data centre located in the heart of Phoenix's 'Opportunity Corridor'. GoDaddy.com recently purchased the 270,000 square foot facility for $9.5 million. It is located near Sky Harbor Airport and will house some of the GoDaddy.com computer hardware used to keep its global operation up and running 24/7.

  • MaximumASP Renovates Over 16,000 Square Feet to Accomodate Growth

    MaximumASP, LLC, one of the world's leading providers of Microsoft Windows based hosting services recently announced its move to a new data center and corporate offices. The new data center at 748 Barret Avenue, Louisville, KY, was built by Peak 10, a technology partner, to accommodate expansion needs. MaximumASP occupies 5,000 square feet of the newly developed 22,000 square foot data center with plans for future expansion. Corporate offices comprise an additional 11,000 square feet.
