Located on the 3rd floor of its rue de Voltaire building, the new 10m Euro centre is the latest in a series of investments since the opening of Telehouse's second Paris site in 2001. Telehouse Paris' facilities now provide 7,000 sq.m of secure colocation space, to companies including the main French Internet Exchange PariX and SfinX. The new facilities are targeted at organisations that require a high availability of business-critical applications, such as those based on internet transactions and communications, internet points of presence and call centres.

COLT has activated its data centre near Brussels at Nossegem in response to increasing customer demand for hosting solutions, in particular to meet storage and regulatory compliance needs. COLT's other data centre in Belgium at Anderlecht is now 98 per cent full leading to the need for new facilities to serve COLT customers, which include Daimler Chrysler, Euroclear and VLM Airlines. The first customers were installed in the Nossegem centre at the beginning of January. According to Colt they have initially opened 600 m2, but have room for three times as much as demand grows.

Hostway Corporation, a provider of Web hosting and managed services, has announced that it will build a next generation datacenter in downtown Chicago in response to strong customer growth. The new datacenter will be located in the Boeing building, along the west bank of the Chicago River. The space was originally built for $200 million and designed to support SBC's mission critical datacenter operation.
