  • Opsware Completes Acquisition Of Creekpath Systems

    Opsware Inc. (NASDAQ: OPSW), the leading provider of IT automation software, has announced the completion of its previously announced acquisition of Boulder, Colorado-based Creekpath Systems, a privately held storage specialist and developer of innovative storage management software. Opsware will build on the technology acquired from Creekpath and leverage it as the foundation for the company's upcoming application storage automation solution.

  • Peak 10 Acquires Nashville-Based RenTech

    Peak 10, Inc., the leading independent data center operator and managed services company, today announced the acquisition of RenTech, a Nashville-based data center operator and outsourcing firm for information technology services. RenTech's customers include notable firms such as Rivals.com, Bondware, IASIS Healthcare, Country Wired and Resource Communications Group. Peak 10 will now own and operate eight data centers in six key market locations. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

  • Cisco Announces Investment To Focus On Data Center Development

    Cisco Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ: CSCO) has announced that it has made an investment in Nuova Systems, Inc. to accelerate next-generation product development in the data center. As a result of Cisco's financial commitment, Nuova Systems will become a majority-owned subsidiary of Cisco. Cisco has committed certain technology and $50 million of funding to Nuova Systems with the possibility of up to $42 million in additional funding in the future. The subsidiary will be approximately 80% owned by Cisco, with the remaining 20% interest held by employees of the subsidiary.

  • Egenera Raises $26 Million In Series E Funding

    Egenera, Inc., a global leader in datacenter virtualization architecture, has announced that it has raised $26 million in a Series E round of funding. Led by Pharos Capital Group and Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the round was completed at a significantly increased valuation over Egenera's previous financing round. Along with new investors Pharos and Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Egenera's core major investors also participated in the round.

  • TelecityRedbus To Acquire Globix UK In $62 Million Deal

    Globix Corporation, a leading provider of Internet infrastructure and managed services, today announced a definitive agreement to sell its wholly-owned subsidiary, Globix Holdings (UK) Limited ("Globix UK") to TelecityRedbus, Europe's leading independent provider of colocation and data center services. The transaction is expected to close in three weeks and is subject to customary terms and closing conditions.

  • Equinix Revenues Up 6%

    Revenues were US$68.5 million for the second quarter, a 6% increase over the previous quarter and a 31% increase over the same quarter last year. Recurring revenues, consisting primarily of colocation, interconnection and managed services, were US$65.1 million, a 5% increase over the previous quarter and a 32% increase over the same quarter last year. Non-recurring revenues were US$3.4 million in the quarter, consisting primarily of professional services and installation fees. he company signed 63 new customers including Swiss Re Financial, United Stationers and VeriSign.

  • Level 3 2Q Results

    Level 3 Communications, Inc. reported consolidated revenue of US$1.53 billion for the second quarter 2006, compared to US$1.27 billion for the first quarter 2006. Communications revenue was US$819 million in the second quarter, versus US$804 million for the previous quarter. Information services revenue was US$695 million in the second quarter, compared to US$445 million for the previous quarter and US$504 million for the same quarter last year.

  • SAVVIS 2Q Up 13%

    SAVVIS, Inc. a global provider of IT infrastructure services for business applications, announced today that its revenue for the second quarter of 2006 totalled US$189.6 million, compared to US$167.2 million in the second quarter of 2005 and $180.0 million in the first quarter of 2006. SAVVIS achieved income from operations of US$6.0 million in the second quarter, and its consolidated net loss narrowed to US$11.1 million, compared to a net loss of US$21.3 million in the second quarter of 2005 and a net loss of US$12.4 million in the first quarter of 2006.
