Presidio announced that the company has completed its previously announced acquisition of INX. In accordance with the terms of the definitive agreement, which was announced on November 1, 2011, Presidio has acquired all outstanding common stock of INX. Going forward, INX will operate as a subsidiary of Presidio Networked Solutions, Inc., and will no longer be a publicly traded stock on the NASDAQ exchange. Presidio is owned by American Securities and management.

zColo, a Zayo Group company, has announced it has acquired MarquisNet's data-centre business in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 28,000 sq ft data centre, located at 7185 Pollock Drive, will be the twelfth zColo Colocation facility.

Business spending on information technology will rise by less than 2% this year, according to Gartner, but SMEs will continue to lead the way in newer areas such as cloud computing. Gartner predicts Australian enterprise spending on IT will rise by a modest 1.9% to A$61.9 billion this year, after declining in the previous two years from a high of A$64.3 billion in 2009.

The US Navy expects to save US$1.4 billion from data centre consolidation by 2017. That's the goal of Navy Chief Information Officer Terry Halvorsen who has said the Navy and Marine Corps need to cut back on the number of data centres they operate in order to cut their overall information technology budgets by 25%.
The Navy and Marines operate 150 data centres and the goal is to shut down and consolidate as many as possible by 2017 to meet the savings goals, Halvorsen's blog post said.

Telecoms company Eaton Towers has secured a US$30-million debt facility to boost its business of selling telecom tower colocation and shared-infrastructure facilities to mobile operators. The debt facility, a first for Eaton, would fund operational maintenance of existing towers that the company manages for Vodafone Ghana, as well as the construction of new towers, said CFO Peter Lewis.
Barclays Bank has announced that it is to cut 422 IT roles, many of them based in the UK, as it restructures its technology and infrastructure division. “We need to make essential changes to our technology and infrastructure division so that we can innovate in new technologies and services for our customers, and be as effective and efficient as possible," the company said. "Whilst regrettably this will mean job losses, we will make every effort to mitigate compulsory redundancies and are working closely with [trade union] Unite and impacted staff.”
Infosys has reported revenues of US$1.8 billion for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, an increase of 3.4%, compared to US$1.58 billion for the same period of 2010. The company posted gross profit of US$776 million for the third quarter of 2011, compared to US$679 million for the same period of 2010. Total operating expenses were US$216 million for the third quarter of 2011, compared to US$200 million for the same period of 2010.

IVG Private Funds is launching a new closed-end real estate fund: EuroSelect 21 Munich. The new fund will invest in Allianz’s largest German site in Unterföhring (Munich district), consisting of a central administrative building and an operations building. Level 3 has announced it has been retained by Avianca to enhance the airline's voice and data communications capabilities as it experiences rapid growth. Social media giant Facebook says it will push the Oregon legislature to fix its tax classification. The company says it was surprised to learn it was labelled as a utility company. They fear this could impose a steep tax bill on their new data centre in Prineville.

The Northwoods Data Center is fully leased to a single tenant. The purchase price of the Northwoods Data Center would be US$5.3 million plus closing costs.
The profits of mid-tier IT company MindTree nearly doubled owing to a significant improvement in utilisation and depreciation of the rupee, during the quarter ended December 31, 2011. MindTree which has announced its third quarter results also said the company expects muted growth during the next quarter as “the global economic situation continues to be challenging.”
Its net profit rose to Rs 60.6 crore, a 98.7% increase over the same quarter last year. Revenue grew by 35.1% to Rs 519.7 crore from the same quarter last year.

F5 Networks reported profit and revenue ahead of expectations in its December quarter and raised guidance for its current March quarter. F5 Networks, whose network controllers are widely used in data centres to speed up application servers, said it earned US$1.03 per share in its first quarter ended Dec. 31, up 17% from 88 cents in the year-earlier period. Revenue rose 19.9% to US$322.4 million.

zColo has announced it is opening a facility in downtown Chicago, located at 600 South Federal St to deliver colocation and interconnection services. Wipro, India's No3 software services exporter, flagged the uncertain global economic environment as a concern after roughly meeting expectations with a 10% rise in quarterly profit, mainly helped by a weaker rupee. Wipro said it expects US$1.52 billion to US$1.55 billion revenue from its IT services unit, which contributes three-quarters of its total sales, in the March quarter, a sequential rise of nearly 1% to 3%.
AURELIUS is selling its subsidiary Consinto GmbH, Siegburg (Germany), to DATAGROUP. The sales price consists of two components: an immediate payment of €17 million, plus an earnout element, which could take the total price to well over €20 million. IBM has announced fourth-quarter 2011 diluted earnings of US$4.62 per share, compared with diluted earnings of US$4.18 per share in the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 11%. Operating (non-GAAP) diluted earnings were US$4.71 per share, compared with operating diluted earnings of US$4.25 per share in the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 11%.
