HP has announced that Commerzbank AG, Germany's second-largest bank, will outsource to HP the management of 33,000 workstations and 12,000 printers as part of a five-year information technology services deal. Under terms of the agreement, HP will deliver to Commerzbank a full range of IT services, from infrastructure services to complete desktop lifecycle management. These services are part of the HP End User Workplace portfolio and include desktop management, network management, print management, server management and help desk services.
EDS and ArvinMeritor recently signed a new, six-year agreement for EDS to manage the tier-one automotive supplier's U.S. and Canadian Information Systems (IS) infrastructure services. EDS will help enable enhanced capabilities, promote predictability in the system and speed ArvinMeritor's ability to change with the evolving business climate. With the agreement, EDS will assume responsibility for ArvinMeritor's IS infrastructure, which includes consolidating and hosting its midrange servers and mainframe computers in EDS data centers.
Public sector Flex, the framework which allows the Cabinet Office and Fujitsu Services to provide information and communication technology (ICT) as a shared service across the public sector, has signed its second customer, the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). Fujitsu will initially focus on bringing together the two key divisions within the department that were formerly functions within the Department of Trade and Industry and Department for Education and Skills.
Equiduct, a new electronic trading platform, announced that it has selected BT to provide connectivity and hosting for electronic trading access to low-latency market data distribution. Equiduct will use the Radianz Shared Market Infrastructure and BT's hosting facility in London. The aim is to reduce latency for participant firms to allow them to achieve MiFID compliance for best execution and pre and post trade transparency. Equiduct provides the first MiFID compliant, European wide connection for trading services and execution.
Attenda Limited, the Always On Managed Services company, has announced that that Davis Langdon has placed a five year, six-figure contract, with Attenda, to host a new SAP system implementation across its UK and Middle-Eastern business. Davis Langdon LLP has some 3,820 staff in 95 offices worldwide operating across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the United States.
Easynet, the international managed networks and hosting company, and Virtela, the secure network solutions company, have announced a global partnership, which extends Easynet's managed network and hosting solutions to 194 countries. Easynet currently has customers in more than 45 countries and operations in nine countries. Virtela and Easynet have integrated network operations to deliver a single service to Easynet's global customers. Customers benefit from end to end Class of Service and Service Level Agreements.
IT services company Atos Origin has announced the signing of a global strategy framework agreement with the China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina). Under the agreement Atos Origin will be the preferred professional IT services provider to the company for the next five years. Services that are to be offered under the agreement include advisory, consultancy and IT services with particular emphasis on best practice manufacturing standards in the chemical industry.
BMW AG has entered into a 3 year contract with Verizon Business to use its Private IP service to connect its 19 subsidiary companies in Eastern & South Eastern Europe with its corporate headquarters in Munich. Verizon Business will provide its MPLS-based IP-VPN network to the company which will enable BMW to converge data and voice onto one network.
Pan-European fibre network provider euNetworks has announced a contract with Allianz Worldwide Care the international healthcare subsidiary of the financial services giant Allianz. Under the contract EU Networks provides IP-VPN services to link Allianz Worldwide Care's regional offices to their head office and also provide a high quality Tier 1 IP Transit service using the EU Networks IP|NEX product. All services operate under a single SLA.
BT and LogicaCMG have implemented the first phase of a network services contract. BT is managing all of LogicaCMG's voice; data; LAN and mobile network infrastructure for both internal use and to support the provision of networking services for both new and existing LogicaCMG customers. With rollout initially in the UK over the course of the seven year contract the service will cover the other countries where LogicaCMG operates.
BT has awarded a 6 year GBP128 million contract extension to outsourcing services company Xansa to provide finance and accounting services. Xansa will handle BT's Finance and Accounting transaction processing, accounts payable, cash, treasury, payroll and reporting services until March 2014. The contract is an extension of an existing contract. Under the terms of the contract the annual value will fall from the previous value of GBP35.7 million per annum to GBP21.3 million.
Verizon Business has announced a 7 year outsource deal with Swedishbased exchange technology provider OMX. Under the terms of the agreement OMX will outsource the operation of its existing Data Centres and network to Verizon Business. Verizon Business will be responsible for OMX services and also the provision of connectivity and Data Centre services to OMX's end users. OMX owns the Nordic Exchange and provides trading and electronic trading and settlement services to around 60 exchanges, clearing banks and central security depositories in 50 countries worldwide.
IT services provider T-Systems has announced that Swiss-based international energy supplier Ratia Energie has outsourced all its IT and related communications technology to T-Systems in Switzerland. The IT services being transferred include network and computer centre infrastructure, PC workstation operation, Service Desk and the operation of all SAP applications. T-Systems is deploying its own on-demand SAP application which can be changed in line with the business demands its so-called Dynamic Services for SAP Applications.
AT&T has announced an IT services contract with Sun Microsystems whereby AT&T will act as a key global IT supplier and prime network manager and maintenance partner to the company. AT&T will provide Sun with LAN and WAN and voice services to 250 of the computer firm's locations in 45 countries worldwide. The contract includes the provision of project management, network design and change management. Where necessary AT&T will work with local partners and integrators to deliver the service.
Cable & Wireless has signed a 400,000 deal to provide managed hosting for online gaming firm Gala Networks Europe (GNE) at its Dublin data centre. The initial two-year contract covers building, hosting, management, and network connectivity for GNE's European online gaming platform. GNE is part of the Gala Group, which has its global headquarters in Japan. The Gala Group provides a community portal, gpotato.com, through which gamers can access all of Gala's services and micro-currency payments for any of its games.
IT services company Atos-Origin has announced that its Atos Worldline subsidiary is to provide a web hosting service to Publicis Net, the interactive advertising subsidiary of the French advertising agency Group Publicis. Atos Worldwide is to host the events platform which will be used to support interactive advertising campaigns using flash technology with the capability to support high traffic volumes and be scalable to cater for campaigns.
Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading owner and manager of corporate datacenters and Internet gateways, has announced that it has completed lease agreements with SAVVIS, Inc. (Nasdaq: SVVS) for new datacenter facilities in Boston and Chicago. The Boston facility totals approximately 66,000 square feet, including approximately 40,000 square feet of Turn-Key Datacenter space and partially built-out raised floor space. The Turn-Key Datacenter lease for the new facility in Chicago totals approximately 20,000 square feet of raised floor.
