Australia: NBN to open up more 'cloud' data storage

The aCure company is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar expansion of its local data centre operations in Perth, with a new 5000 sq m facility, including 1000 sq m of data centre space, set to open in August.

"Demand for data will more than double in five years time, much more," IT industry veteran Glenn Farrow, managing director of aCure Technology, said. Mr Farrow's son Grant, aCure's data centre sales manager, said aCure's first two centres had reached capacity within 12 to 18 months of opening and he expected demand to continue to rise as more small to medium businesses got access to better connectivity through the National Broadband Network.
