Big boost for Oman broadband services

The recently set up government-owned broadband company to boost broadband services in the country is making big strides and will start achieving its goals by 2015, the top official at Information Technology Authority has said,

The Transport and Communications Ministry, in collaboration with Telecommunication Regulation Authority, the Information Technology Authority, and other relevant bodies are working together to enhance the telecom sector in the Sultanate through the new broadband company, which will supply fibre optic cables for network providers. “The company is a substantial step forward in enhancing the telecommunications sector in the Sultanate. Better connectivity will enhance all the sectors in the Sultanate. By 2015, we will begin to cross company's major milestones,- ITA's CEO Salim Al Ruzaiq said.
