Following Xerox’s recent announcement that it ha secured, s US$848 million deal with the state of Texas for the consolidation of its data centres, French IT services company Capgemini North America, announced it has signed a multi-million dollar infrastructure services deal with the Texas Department of Information Resources. The six-year, US$127 million agreement is one of the largest infrastructure services contract to-date for Capgemini’s North American Infrastructure Services business unit. Under the terms of the agreement, Capgemini will manage and securely monitor infrastructure services for the department in five key areas, including data centres, mainframes, servers, networks and printing and email.
Capgemini will be the integrator of multi-sourced services on behalf of the Department of Information Resources as it looks to standardize its infrastructure processes and maximize the value of its IT services delivered by various suppliers.
