Cash flows for expansion of data centre capacity
Data capacity is growing rapidly, with hundreds of millions of dollars expected to be pumped into new facilities in coming months. Leading data centre consultancy, CS Technology, has 14 projects involving new developments, including expansions, around the country.
Most of the names on the list cannot be revealed because of the confidential nature of the projects, but it excludes two new sites developed by Tier5 in Adelaide and Fujitsu Australia in Perth. Today Tier5 will officially reveal its data centre in Adelaide, at the former Mitsubishi Motors plant. On November 23, Fujitsu Australia will open its 3000 sq m data centre in Perth. It is expected to make further investments in centres in NSW, especially in western Sydney.
