Catawba County is planning a data-centre park in Conover
Catawba County is having so much success with data centres; it wants to have its own data-centre park. The Catawba Board of County Commissioners voted this week to apply for a US$4 million state loan to create a 159-acre data-centre park in Conover to be called the ncDataCampus.
Scott Millar, president of the Catawba County Economic Development Corp. , says the county and its municipalities, such as Hickory, Conover, Maiden and Catawba, will finance the development. Millar and his staff would work to bring data-centre companies to the park, which is targeted for a site on Lee Cline Road.
