China Mobile opens new Hong Kong global network centre

China Mobile’s subsidiary, China Mobile International has established its new global network centre in Hong Kong. With an internal space of 24,355 sq m, this network centre will function as a submarine cable landing and transmission hub. It will also serve as a Global Network Operation Center and cloud computing centre. The centre will also contain data and voice services. These services will include International Ethernet Private Line, Long Distance Voice Hubbing and IP Transit among others.

China Mobile will be able to deliver telecom network services for clients all over the world including those in Hong Kong. With the use of the submarine cable systems, the centre is equipped to connect China’s network with the rest of the world.

In addition, China Mobile has also announced its financial results for the first half; First-half net profit rose just 1.5%  from a year earlier and April-June net profit of 34.4 billion yuan (US$5.5 billion) - calculated from company data - was slightly below expectations of 35.2 billion accoring to reports from Bl;oomberg.
