China Mobile to set up two new data centres
China Mobile is planning to set up two new data centres in Hohhot and Harbin, covering a total area of 185 hectares. China Mobile did not disclose its investment plan for the new data centre. According to a tender project from China Mobile, the new data center in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, has a total area of about 99.1 hectares and the total construction area will reach 720,000 sq m, including the first-phase construction area of 169,000 sq m.
This represents China Mobile's two new major construction projects, following its southern base and international information port construction commencement in Beijing. The new data centre in Harbin, Heilongjiang, has a total area of about 86.27 hectares and the total construction area will reach 663,000 sq m, including the first-phase construction area of 207,000 sq m.
