Colt deploys new modular data centre in its flagship facility in France

Colt, Europe’s leading information delivery platform, has announced it is making a thousand square metres of modular data centre space available in its flagship Paris carrier neutral facility in France. The modules which were constructed in the UK were shipped a thousand kilometres across the English channel and then by road to its location south of Paris.

Colt’s Paris facility is utilised by a number of key customers as their primary data centre site and has acted as a disaster recovery data centre for many years. The site has extra capacity for another eight double-stacked, 500 sq m modular data centre halls and is strategically located close to major arterial routes outside the city’s main ring-roads. This means if there is an emergency in the capital, the data centre will remain unaffected. The data centre is conveniently positioned just 2km from the nearest railway line and 12km from the nearest airport, making it easily accessible from across Europe.
