Computer Sciences implements cloud services for FAA

IT services provider Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) has said it has received a US$91 million worth contract from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration or FAA to implement a cloud software-as-a-service solution for its Enterprise Messaging System.

Computer Sciences said the contract was signed during its first quarter and it has a one-year base period and six option years. CSC said work under this contract will add the FAA to the growing list of federal agencies moving their email and collaboration applications to the cloud. Under the terms of the contract, the company will provide Microsoft Office 365 in Microsoft Corp.'s secure cloud environment. CSC will migrate 80,000 users spread across multiple email systems to Microsoft Office 365.
