Data centre owner and operator CoreSite Realty, whose two biggest backers are associated with The Carlyle Group, priced shares in its initial public offering at the midpoint of the expected range on Wednesday. The company, based in Denver, Colorado, sold 16.9 million shares for US$16 each, raising about US$270.4 million. It planned to sell shares for US$15 to US$17 each.
CoreSite has data centres in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay and Northern Virginia areas, Chicago and New York City. As of June 30, 2010, it owned 11 data centres, had one under construction and another under development.
