Dell eyes acquisitions for growth

Dell said it will keep on exploring acquisitions to widen its lead into areas such as storage and services. According to the sources, Dell is looking beyond its traditional desktop computer market for long-term revenue growth. The company expressed its interest in buying data centres that is contributing half the company’s profit.

The world’s No. 2 PC maker wants to bring innovation through acquisitions and acquired 8 companies last year including information-security company SecureWorks. Dell estimated revenue of US$4 billion to US$5 billion in storage by fiscal 2015 while it sees its technology services business to garner US$10 billion to US$11 billion in the same period.
