Delta Telekom to transfer half of Azerbaijani Internet content to National Data Center servers

Azerbaijan’s primary Internet provider Delta Telekom has transferred about half of the Azerbaijani Internet resources to the servers of the National Data Center. DT technical director Rahid Alakbarli informs that today 40% national content has been transferred to the local servers.

"By the end of this year we’ll try to bring this figure up to 45%. Today, such large-scale resources as www.ilk10.az and www.box.az have been already relocated into the local servers of the data centre," Alakbarli stated. According to Alakbarli, until recently 97% of Azerbaijani websites was hosted by foreign servers, including those in Germany and the United States, and in this connection in case of hacker attack there appeared additional problems with website recovery.
