DHS awards contract to Unisys for IT services to support public safety communications

DHS recently awarded a contract to Unisys to compete for task orders under the Tactical Communications Equipment and Services contract.Unisys will compete for task orders in two of five categories included under the contract: infrastructure services (such as design, integration and analysis of communications systems) and operations and maintenance services (such as end user support, equipment maintenance and rapid deployment support.)

The contract will help the federal government support its legacy mission-critical public safety communications systems as well as upgrade those systems, including interoperable, digital IP-based solutions capable of integrating voice, data and video.
