Dimension Data reports bank contract win

A global bank has chosen Dimension Data Singapore to relocate its data centre and upgrade its IT infrastructure at the bank's Asian headquarters in Singapore. The move will deliver improvements in terms of performance, availability and scalability of its IT backbone, which will also result in reduced running costs. The project, valued at US$2.1 million including the relocation process, was carried out over three months. Now complete, it is already supporting the bank's wide-ranging operations in the Asia-Pacific region, where it has more than 12,000 employees in nine different countries.

Dimension Data Singapore supplied the bank's new data centre with Cisco layer switches and other core network infrastructure, and relocated its Cisco IP telephony and F5 Networks application delivery solutions to the new site - with no disruption to critical business operations such as the bank's trading floor. To ensure this, the project was implemented following a painstaking planning process within the ITIL-compliant service delivery framework.
