Donghwa Telecom, TCC Technology, NeocomISP, and Vietnam Telecom International Announced the Official Launch of 1st Thailand-Cambodia-Vietnam-Hong Kong fibre highway
Donghwa Telecom, a Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), TCC Technology (TCCT), NeocomISP (NTC), and Vietnam Telecom International (VTI) have announced the Thailand – Cambodia-Vietnam-Hong Kong Backbone Partnership has been launched. The purpose of this collaboration is to accomplish an alternate protected direct fibre path with shortest distance among Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. The partnership brings a Single Network Management System riding on a Single Equipment Platform and International Internet Gateway (IGG) facilities catered for the huge on-going internet Bandwidth demand up to multiple 10 GB from Thailand, Cambodia to Central and North Asia and to North America. This will be a long term fibre highway partnership commitment staring from 2012 onward.
This new phase of collaboration creates the 1st Protected Fibre Terrestrial Backbone connecting Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong’s Local Exchanges on top with members’ data centers. This indicates that at the moment customers by lower latency with diversified and protected fibre paths linking Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong’s (via submarine
cable) Local Exchanges or National Internet Exchanges (NIXs). The new fibre backbone will enhance value to the high speed Internet bandwidth demand and Cloud Computing applications to the Mekong region.
