Easynet helps Birmingham City traffic flow
Easynet Global Services has announced a new seven-year deal with public services provider Amey, which will see it provide a fully-managed MPLS network for Birmingham's Urban Traffic Control system.
The contract will help Amey, who work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to maintain and manage the city's roads, to connect road-side traffic signals to the central traffic signal operational control room. This will help to reduce congestion and improve traffic safety across the region. The new network from Easynet will help Amey to improve and maintain the Birmingham Highways infrastructure, which includes 2,500km of road network, 95,000 street lights and more than 850 highway structures and bridges across the city.
