Equinix, a provider of global data center services, has announced it has added 16 new customers to its Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange, a global, network-neutral service that improves quality and removes the cost and complexity of facilitating commercial transactions between Layer 2 Ethernet networks.

Equinix has also extended the service to three new European markets -Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris - and launched a new online portal, called Marketplace for Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange that connects buyers and sellers of Ethernet-based services globally.
