Equinix Opens Fourth N.Y. Area Data Center With Leading Global Investment Bank As Anchor; ICAP To Introduce New Premium Connectivity Service Through Partnership With Equinix

Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, has announced the grand opening of its fourth Internet Business Exchange (IBX) center in the New York area (NY4). The announcement comes as the demand for premium data center colocation and network exchange services in the New York region continues to accelerate. The first phase of the $95 million NY4 center, located in Secaucus, NJ, is 50 percent reserved by customers, primarily from within the rapidly growing financial services industry in the region. NY4 opens with a leading global investment bank as anchor customer and ICAP, a premier global interdealer broker, is among the financial services companies in the center as well. Based on the center's success to date, Equinix has begun the design and planning stage of a potential Phase II expansion of NY4. Located near Equinix's existing NY2 center, the new center is Equinix's largest in the U.S. to date at 340,000 square feet the size of five football fields. At full build out, the center will feature a total capacity of approximately 4,700 cabinets with an annual revenue capacity of between $95 million and $110 million. It is directly linked to the three other New York area IBX centers through redundant dark fiber links managed by Equinix. In a seperate announcement Equinix has announced the introduction of a new premium ICAP connectivity service for financial market participants trading in North America. The new service, i-Cross, will provide a high-bandwidth, low latency connection to both ICAP's BrokerTec and EBS platforms from a common data center for the first time. The i-Cross service will be available before the end of the year. The new service will facilitate the hosting of customers' equipment and network connectivity within two of Equinix's Internet Business Exchange (IBX) centers in the New York region, ensuring the fastest possible data exchange platform. i-Cross will be available to all customers trading benchmark U.S. Treasuries on the BrokerTec platform and to all customers trading on the EBS platform via its Spot Ai trading application in North America. Customers will also have access to ICAP's market data solutions, including EBS Live a premium product of real-time streaming prices, delivered direct from the EBS platform to the customer's market data distribution platform and the BO23 broadcast, which provides full order depth on the BrokerTec platform. ICAP will deliver the i-Cross service within Equinix's recently opened NY4 IBX data center.
