FREENET obtains NSP license in Malaysia

FREENET has obtained a Network Services Provider (NSP) license from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) paving the way for local and international IP interconnect, transit and switching services.

“With the NSP license, FREENET will continue to enhance our existing IP network infrastructure to serve our managed network customers who depend on us to connect their application and data information to Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa,” said Billy Lee, the Chief Executive Officer of FREENET. He believes that the company will also start to transform two out of its three data centres in Malaysia to become one of the top preferred Asia Pacific regional data centres connecting all international Tier-1 networks in the region. As such, this will enable shorter and lower latency route to respective countries.
