Global IT spending to grow, says Gartner
IT research and advisory company Gartner has forecasted that global IT spending will increase by 5.3% this year and will continue to grow in 2011. Following steady growth from the end of last year, the company has suggested that 2010 will see the industry rise to a spending of US$3.4 trillion up from US$3.2 trillion last year.
Richard Gordon, research vice president at Gartner, commented: "Following strong fourth quarter sales, an unseasonably robust hardware supply chain in the first quarter of 2010, combined with continued improvement in the global economy, sets up 2010 for solid IT spending growth."
