HP Announces Unified Communications Enhancements To Blade System

HP has announced two Unified Communications (UC) solutions which are hosted on the HP BladeSystem to enable businesses to manage multiple communication tools on a single platform. Customers can host e-mail, messaging, presence, conferencing and telephony on one platform using HP's Solution Blocks for Unified Communications. HP Solution Blocks combine HP server blades, HP storage hardware and interconnect technology. Other HP Solution Blocks are also available for CRM, ERP or business continuity. The UC solutions use Microsoft unified communications software and a forthcoming unified communications stack from Ericsson on the HP BladeSystem c7000 and HP BladeSystem c3000 enclosures. Software components include the Ericsson Mobility Gateway which allows the integration of mobile devices with corporate networks including PBX-based functions, Ericsson MX-ONE which allows a server-based IP-PBX function that integrates with other IT resources and the Ericsson Enterprise Multimedia Server.
