IBM has announced additions to its range of BladeCenter and System X servers which use the low voltage producing microprocessors available from AMD and Intel. Additionally they also use energy-smart flash based storage technology. IBM claims that as the flash storage device is a solid state device that it can emit 95% less heat than a conventional spinning hard drive.
