Level 3 Communications, a provider of fibre-based communications services, has stated that Grooveshark, an on-demand music service company will be receiving high-speed Internet Protocol (HSIP) services from them to facilities in Denver and Jacksonville, Fla.
Under the terms of the new agreement signed between the companies, Level 3 will provide Grooveshark with HSIP services, using an international IP network and access to efficient low-latency routes to enhance Grooveshark’s online music streaming capabilities. The agreement has also enabled Grooveshark to use Level 3’s HSIP as an in-house solution for scalable bandwidth, which allowed the company to leverage Level 3’s HSIP to provide direct streaming to its customers, thereby reducing costs and improving service quality.
