Lindley Moor plans submitted for data centre

Developers have submitted two planning applications for a flashpoint site in Huddersfield. Miller Homes this week asked for permission to build 300 homes on land between Cowrakes Road and Weather Hill Road on Lindley Moor. And Stirling Scotfield has resubmitted its application for a data centre on the corner of Lindley Moor Road and Crosland Road.

Stirling Scotfield wants to set up a secure site for businesses to house their computer servers on the corner of Lindley Moor Road and Crosland Road. Kirklees rejected the data centre proposal last June after opposition from residents. But the company appealed the decision in January. The Planning Inspectorate will hold a four-day public inquiry into the proposal from September 13.
