Liverpool domain name and hosting company Switch Media has been bought out in a £1.25 million cash takeover deal by AIM-listed iomart Group. It is the second acquisition in six months by the Glasgow-based managed hosting and cloud computing services company.

Switch supplies domain name and shared hosting services to small businesses and operates in a similar market to iomart’s Easyspace division. Iomart said the acquisition of Switch Media brings with it more than 10,000 customers, providing a strong base of additional business to expand its small company hosting business.
