Lockheed Martin confirms data security attack

A US based IT services firm has confirmed it has been the target of a "tenacious" data security attack. Lockheed Martin, which provides IT systems integration and training to the US government, acknowledged that on May 21st it detected a "significant and tenacious attack on its information systems network".

The firm has said it is increasing data security in light of the attack but stressed that the systems remained safe and no information was accessed.
