Mentor Graphics is building its own data centre at corporate headquarters in Wilsonville, part of an effort to consolidate local networks scattered across 35 sites around the world, from Pakistan to Cairo to Mexico.
The first of two data centres in the US$32 million project opened last January in Ireland. The Wilsonville facility is due to open in December. It's being built by Portland-based Fortis Construction, the same company that built Facebook's first corporate-owned centre in Prineville. The data centre will provide 22,000 sq ft of space at the company’s 53 acre campus in Wilsonville.
