Microsoft to build cloud data centres in China

Ya-Qin Zhang, senior global VP of Microsoft, revealed at the 4th Annual China Cloud Computing Conference in Beijing recently that Microsoft is currently applying for government permission to construct cloud data centres in China.

Zhang added that there is a large gap between China and the United States in terms of cloud computing, partly because China does not have any large-scale cloud services like Amazon's, stating "Microsoft will soon have substantial cloud data centre resources in China."
