French fibre network operator Neo Telecoms has extended its sales activity in the US by opening a new point of presence in Chicago, Illinois, mainly aimed at clients in the financial sector. It has installed a Juniper MX960 router to deliver IP MPLS services with circuits optimised in Europe to minimise latency.

The company has also hired internet and network specialist Stacy Hugues to handle US sales and promotion. Neo Telecoms also announced its extension of its Paris region network over the last several months, interconnecting Interxion 5, Telecity 3 and Equinix 1. Meanwhile, it doubled capacity on its link to Iliad's data centre inVitry and to Telehouse 2, where it is opening a new area for dedicated servers.
