Next Generation Data Limited has announced a US$20 million plan to build seven additional data halls at NGD Europe, the data centre it opened near Cardiff, Wales last year. Due for completion by the end of 2011, the expansion project is being funded by shareholders and follows new tenancy agreements worth over US$33 million signed this year with several blue chip multinational organisations.
Next Generation Data’s expansion strategy will ensure it continues to maximise the opportunity for providing secure space, power and cooling infrastructure to a growing list of corporate customers. Recently the company secured more than US$8 million of debt finance from investors including Lombard and Finance Wales.
