Oracle to hire 1,700 staff in Europe Middle East and Africa,
Oracle is hiring 1,700 new staff across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, advertising many of the jobs on Twitter and Facebook. Following its acquisition of Sun Microsystems two years ago, the company made hundreds of redundancies in Europe as the recession took bite. However, the firm has been buoyed by continued growth in its core database market and related growth in the cloud computing market.
Oracle is on the look out for graduates, senior sales staff and pre-sales consultants, among others. Alan Hartwell, vice president for technology solutions at Oracle UK, said: “We work with some of the largest and most innovative companies in the world and need people who are excited by the challenges that brings."
