Pacnet accelerates expansion of CloudSpace facility in Australia

Pacnet has announced the expansion of its CloudSpace data centre facility in Sydney to meet the growing demand for data centre services in Australia. "This is the latest in our series of investments into growing our CloudSpace infrastructure, as we expand our capabilities to help businesses take advantage of the cloud," said Bill Barney, Chief Executive Officer, Pacnet. "In addition to upgrading our current facilities, we are also looking at new geographies as part of our plans for our next phase of CloudSpace data centre expansion."

The Sydney CloudSpace1 (SYCS1) data centre located at Liverpool Street was first launched in February 2011 and this second phase of expansion will add up to 700 racks and 3 MW of power to the facility when completed, complementing the capacity from four other data centres that Pacnet operates in Australia.
