Pinnacle Telecom wants to acquire UK data centres
Pinnacle Telecom has announced its second big contract win from the BBC in less than a week. The firm has been appointed to provide voice and data connectivity for the UK local elections days after securing a similar deal for Radio1's Big Weekend event. The latest win involves Pinnacle providing telecoms at 100 locations across the UK which will be used for radio and television broadcasts.
Alan Bonner, Pinnacle's chief executive, also signalled his intention to expand Pinnacle's offering by acquiring UK-based data centres. He said: "The company is seeking to acquire and grow the four main elements of traditional telephony, hosted cloud based services, IT support and data centres. A particular target area is data centres, where the combination of recurring revenue and a platform to expand our hosted cloud based services, would create a compelling earnings enhancing proposition.
