SKT opens centre for cloud computing

SK Telecom, Korea’s largest mobile carrier, has opened the first centre in the country for monitoring cloud computing data and protection systems for enterprises. The company has said that it has established the cloud monitoring centre within its Cloud data centre in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, where it will run 24 hours a day throughout the year.

The establishment of the centre comes after SK Telecom launched the T Cloud Biz security service last month aimed at protecting enterprises from possible hacking when using cloud platforms. There are about 300 servers and storage systems for enterprise cloud computing at the Cloud Data Center, and some 10 staff members specializing and managing T Cloud Biz to
ensure real-time security checks and immediate countermeasures against security breaches or theft.
