South Africa: Internet Solutions data centre expansion hits phase 2

Internet Solutions has announced that capacity on the second phase of its recently-completed Randview data centre will be available shortly, following “strong demand” for space in phase one. Demand for local hosting, cloud computing and virtualisation services has been growing, said IS, with the company having filled all the racks in phase one expansion in less than six
months.

Many of the clients that are hosted in the Randview data centre use it to provision private clouds; as the data centre offers the most efficient cooling system in Africa, hosting costs are reduced, IS explained. “The results of this cooling system have been extremely positive and offers many operational benefits to our business and, subsequently, to our customers,” said
Greg Montjoie, executive for cloud services at IS.
