Star, a provider of on-demand computing and communications services, will open a new data centre to meet the growing demands of its customers and provide capacity to support the company’s organic growth plans. The firm, which provides tailored business services from its UK based cloud computing platform, helps medium sized businesses with their transformation needs. The new data centre, based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, will be fully operational on its opening with fully managed services to help fuel innovation and growth for ambitious companies.
After a competitive tender, Star chose a site operated by Vtesse Cirrus, who designed and implemented Star’s data hall requirements. Moreover, Star was especially impressed by the “can do” attitude at Vtesse Cirrus that tallied closely with their ambitious ethos.
Martin Turbitt, Operations Director at Star, stated, “The existing ISO27001 and PCI-DSS service provider certifications we have will be extended to cover the Hoddesdon data centre. Having multiple data centre locations with capacity and on-net connectivity means Star is able to deliver a dual data centre capability. This is critical to support individual customer requirements to achieve high levels of business continuity and gaining certifications such as BS25999 or ISO22301.”
