StillSecure, a provider of secure network infrastructure solutions, has introduced ProtectPoint VSS, a new managed security service. This new security service allows data centres, hosting providers and colocation facilities to provide secure virtual environments for their customers. Moreover, VSS can also be a key ingredient in building a private cloud environment for enterprises, according to company officials.

With StillSecure's new VSS offering, public and private clouds can be secured with a full suite of virtual managed security services. In order to detect and block network attacks, ProtectPoint VSS provides firewall and intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS) services. In addition, ProtectPoint VSS leverages VMware's VMsafe APIs to access the hypervisor and secure virtual-to-virtual connections within the virtual environment.
