Super Micro Computer opens cloud hub in Taiwan

US-based server manufacturer Super Micro Computer has announced it has opened a new science and technology park in Taoyuan County, northern Taiwan. The company said it has invested US$100 million in the new cloud hub, which will create 3,000 jobs.

As Super Micro's systems integration and operations centre in Asia, the centre will serve as the company’s logistics and operation base for the Asia-Pacific region, according to the InvesTaiwan Service Center under the Executive Yuan. "The opening of our state-of-the-art science and technology park in Taiwan is a major milestone for Super Micro and establishes us as a top tier player in the enterprise server, storage and supercomputing business," said Super Micro president and CEO Charles Liang.
