Swisscom to build new data centre in Berne

Swisscom is planning to build a new data centre in Berne, according to inside-it.ch. The new data centre will be built in the business park in Berne-Wankdorf and will replace older Swisscom data centres.

With the new construction, the company wants to provide more managed housing and it-outsourcing services. Swisscom spokesman Olaf Schulze said that the company is still waiting for a building licence, and is planning to start the building work in August. The site will cover 4,000 sq m and will cost around CHF 100 million.
