The companies have formed a strategic partnership to leverage Switch and Data's interconnection density and managed infrastructure with Last Mile Connections' bandwidth exchange and e-marketplace. Beginning in New York, Atlanta, and Miami Switch and Data will have its sites in these markets enabled with the Online Exchange, a physical local loop exchange platform and bandwidth marketplace created by Last Mile Connections, a New York-based neutral telecommunications exchange. LMC will offer its customers enhanced colocation and interconnection by consolidating all bandwidth suppliers into one access facility. Switch and Data customers will connect to most end user office buildings in each of these markets as well as the Long Haul highways leading out of the city.
