T-Systems opens its first Innovation Center in Munich

T-Systems has opened its first Innovation Center in the Bavarian capital. On some 450 sq m in the Euroindustriepark in Munich, companies will now be able to test new information and telecommunications solutions in a realistic work environment. T-Systems want this workshop to bring innovations alive.

The Innovation Center is located in T-Systems’ largest data centre together with the recently opened DataCenter 2020. In this research data centre, T-Systems and Intel experts are working together to develop solutions to improve the construction and energy-intensive operation of data centres in ecological terms. A biogas-powered fuel cell supplies electricity for a server area in the data centre. The cell’s waste heat is converted into cooling, thereby reducing the energy consumed for the supplied area almost by half.
