UnitedHealth plans 2nd Twin Cities data centre
UnitedHealth Group plans to break ground this summer on a US$100 million to US$150 million data centre in Chaska, similar to the one it built in Elk River in 2008. UnitedHealth spokesman Will Holman confirmed that the company plans “to build a state-of-the art data centre facility” in Chaska to accommodate its “continued growth and help increase the company’s data centre capabilities.” The company said the cost is confidential.
UnitedHealth is in the process of selecting a general contractor and architect for the facility. It expects to complete the 190,000 sq ft facility by mid-2012, Holman said.
