US$62 million GSA data centre contract awarded to HITT Contracting

HITT Contracting has been awarded a contract for the design and construction of a new Tier III data centre to be located at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado. The team, led by HITT, includes Wisnewski Blair & Associates for Architecture; KTA Group for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering; Woods Peacock for Structural Engineering; Kimley-Horn and Associates for Civil Engineering; and Schmid & Associates for Fire Protection Engineering.

The facility comprises roughly 110,000 sq ft on an 11-acre site, consisting of two stories with a mechanical basement. Designed to meet Tier III requirements, as rated by the Uptime Institute Tier Level Classification System, the building will contain redundancy for failure and maintenance and will employ the Performance Optimized Datacenter concept.
